< Development of the next generation dental implant attaching to periodontal ligament >

Dental implant therapies have achieved as an essential therapy for recovering tooth loss by using dental prosthesis with more reliable prognoses. However, the dental implant therapies cannot correspond to the changing of jawbone growth due to the loss of periodontal ligament cells which connect tooth root and alveolar bone. The aim of this study is to develop the next generation of dental implant which adhere periodontal ligament at the surface of the implants. We are developing the basic technology in which the cells available for making bioengineered periodontal ligament apply to the dental implant.
